January 12, 2020â âTaal Volcano in the province of Batangas erupted after showing signs of activity for days. The eruption covered all surrounding areas in copious amounts of ash and the imminent threat of another eruption prompted mass evacuations. Ash rained down the provinces and cities of CALABARZON, Metro Manila and some parts of Central Luzon and Ilocos Region.

Chairman Alicia dela Rosa-Bala of the Civil Service Commission opened the third batch of the Phronetic Leadership Class (PLC) by challenging the scholars to translate Phronetic Leadership to public service excellence during a keynote message last Monday, February 27. The class is composed of twenty undersecretaries, assistant secretaries and senior directors representing thirteen national line agencies including the CCC, DA, DBM, DepEd, DOF, DICT, DOJ, DND, DPWH, DSWD, DENR, DILG, and NEDA. Hernandez reaped the Most Citizen-Centric Re-Entry Project for his work entitled “P6.60 Na Hulog Para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya” – a project that systematized the sustenance of tricycle drivers’ health insurance by hitching their savings on a P6.60-daily basis. Professor Temario Rivera received his Bachelor and Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of the Philippines and his PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Fulbright scholar and a Rockefeller Foundation graduate scholar. He has authored more than fifty professional publications about Philippine politics and development. Having served as Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Political Science Journal from 1993 to 2013, he is currently the distinguished publication’s Editor Emeritus. He served as the Department Chair from 1992 to 1997 of the Department of Political Science in the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD).
