The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) is set to conduct an impact evaluation of the PMDP. The details of this engagement were discussed during the kickoff meeting last March 9, 2021 which was attended by DAP Senior Vice President Magdalena L. Mendoza, PMDP Managing Director Nanette C. Caparros, PMDP M&E Program Manager Sheryl D. Reyes, PIDS Senior Research Fellows Dr. Sonny Domingo and Dr. Michael Ralph Abrigo, PIDS Junior Research Fellow Dr. Charlotte Justine Sicat, and other involved staff from DAP and PIDS. The focus of the study is to measure and evaluate the extent to which expected outcomes are being attained, and identify other positive outcomes that may have resulted from the Program. The evaluation also aims to provide evidence of program impact on key stakeholders.

Twenty-four high ranking officials from 18 government agencies across the country are now part of the 10th batch of the PMDP Senior Executives Class (SEC10). The opening ceremony was hosted via Google Meet and streamed live on PMDP’s Facebook page.
A warm welcome started the ceremony from DAP President and CEO Atty. Engelbert C. Caronan. “I hope the Academy could instill in you a clear perspective of your role as a public servant. I wish that more than fruitful, your experience with us will also be meaningful and fulfilling to you as a public servant.”

The Senior Executives Class Batch 9 – Punyagi was privileged to have Mr. Antonio “Tony” Meloto, father of Gawad Kalinga (Tagalog words that mean “to give care”), a global movement meant for building sustainable communities within slum areas, share with them his story during their Phronetic Leadership module.
Mr. Meloto told the class that he retired from Gawad Kalinga (GK) in 2017 and is now a happy farmer in San Jose Bulacan. He mentioned that his journey did not end with his retirement in GK as the Chairman, and is now in the 3rd phase of his journey building sustainable and innovative communities throughout the Philippines.

The Public Management Development Program (PMDP) of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) held a Late Breakfast Chat featuring Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua, the Acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary of the National Economic and Development Authority via Google Meet last 9 December 2020.
The event was met with much enthusiasm as the total number of participants reached almost two hundred (200), while it streamed on two different platforms—Google Meet and Facebook Live on the PMDP Facebook page. This was a first for the program as previous Breakfast Chats were held face-to-face in the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay, with free-flowing coffee amid the scenic greenery.

23 November 2020 – The Program opened its doors to the 25th batch of the Middle Managers Class comprising of 32 scholars from 17 government agencies. The ceremony was held virtually and streamed on PMDP’s official Facebook page.
DAP President and CEO Atty. Engelbert C. Caronan Jr. kick-started the ceremony with a welcome address and highlighted the value and essence of their being part of the Academy’s pool of government officials on training. He emphasized how their actions can have a lasting impact and can contribute to the greatness of the nation. He therefore exhorted the scholars to open themselves to the competencies and skills development offered by the Program as the Filipino people look up to government leaders to navigate them around living in strange and surreal times and help them survive in a volatile environment.

For the scholars of PMDP, it is no different; however, with the general quarantine guidelines still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, holding this tradition under the present circumstances has been deemed unsafe. Despite this, PMDP needed to recognize the efforts made in completing its rigorous training course hence, the Program mounted its 18th Graduation Ceremony virtually for Senior Executives Class Shuttle Course Batch 1-Optimus and Senior Executives Class Batch 8-Awanggan last 12 June 2020 via Google Meet.
